The European programme – SMARTCHAIN
SMARTCHAIN is a three-year programme with 43 partners from 11 European countries in which the key role lies with organizations involved in the short supply chain sector.
The key objective is to promote and accelerate a fundamental change towards small collaborative food supply chains through specific actions and policies which will enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the European agro-food model.
Gaia participates in SMARTCHAIN as a partner under the scientific care of the Sociology Department of the University of Crete. We participated in the 1st meeting of the project partners in September 2018 in Stuttgart, Germany and in the 2nd meeting in September 2019 in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
